EMISSIONS REDUCTION AND RENEWABLE
ENERGY SOURCES DEVELOPMENT PLAN
|
In the last years Serenissima Srl Unipersonale specifically committed in joining economic and environment sustainability,
hence during 2018 we put in place an ambitious project aimed at improving energy efficiency and at reducing
climate-change gasses emissions.
The fulfilment of such plan began with a preliminary analysis of the existing types of consumption and energy sources,
then it continued by reducing fossil fuels consumption, improving energy efficiency and increasing the share of renewable energy.
In order to reduce fossil fuels consumption we set up a new system of electric powered conveyor belts for transporting our splits in lime,
allowing us to reduce the usage of the diesel forklift. Moreover, we substituted the existing wheel material handler with a new generation one,
which is less energy intensive and equipped with urea-based anti-pollution technology.
At the same time, to cut down methane consumption, we completely renewed the heating system installing a high efficiency electric heat pump.
Other upgrades led us to substitute the incandescent light fixtures in all the production areas with a new LED lighting system,
to apply an exterior insulation and finishing system to the office block and to install a heat recovery system to the existing screw compressor.
At last, to bolster the effectiveness of these improvements, we put in place a new 89 kW photovoltaic installation,
allowing boosting our share of renewable energy consumed and reducing our climate-change gasses emissions.
Some of these projects have been partially financed using funds made available by the European Union,
the Italian State and the Veneto Region within the POR FESR 2014-2020 funding.
Specifically substituting the office block heating system, renewing the lighting system,
installing the the solar panels and setting up the new conveyor belts system.
